Duane Ruth-Heffelbower, M.Div., J.D., Attorney and Counselor at Law, mediator, arbitrator and facilitator in all disputes; Associate Professor of Peacemaking and Conflict Studies, Fresno Pacific University; faculty in the Leadership Studies MA Program; Director, Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies and its graduate academic programs; faculty in the Criminology and Restorative Justice Studies degree completion program.
Thousands of cases handled as advocate, mediator, arbitrator or facilitator in everything from schoolyard fights to international disputes between governments. Thousands of people trained in conflict resolution on five continents in over a hundred languages with a specialty in inter-religious and cross-cultural disputes. Advanced Practitioner member of the Association for Conflict Resolution Family Section. Serve as judge pro tem in Fresno County Superior Court. Served in Indonesia August 1999 through December 2001 under Mennonite Central Committee at Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where he was a member of Pusat Studi dan Pengembangan Perdamaian (Center for the Study and Promotion of Peace). He also served as Director of Peace Programs for Mennonite Central Committee Indonesia.
Over twenty years of experience in a variety of roles with Victim Offender Reconciliation Program of the Central Valley, concluding five years as administrator in 2007. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Refugee Resettlement provider of technical assistance. Nearly 100 publications and presentations are listed on his web site noted below. Duane also serves as the ASV Webmaster.
